Etika Komunikasi Digital di Era Media Sosial: Prinsip, Tantangan, dan Implikasinya bagi Interaksi Akademik

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah mengubah pola komunikasi masyarakat secara signifikan. Media digital memungkinkan individu untuk berinteraksi secara cepat, luas, dan tanpa batas ruang. Perkembangan tersebut juga memunculkan berbagai persoalan etika dalam komunikasi digital, seperti penyebaran informasi yang tidak akurat, ujaran kebencian, serta kurangnya kesadaran terhadap norma komunikasi yang santun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis prinsip-prinsip etika komunikasi digital serta implikasinya terhadap praktik komunikasi di lingkungan akademik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi literatur dan analisis konseptual terhadap berbagai teori komunikasi digital dan etika komunikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan etika komunikasi digital sangat penting untuk menjaga kualitas interaksi sosial di ruang digital. Prinsip-prinsip seperti saling menghormati, tanggung jawab informasi, kesadaran privasi, serta penggunaan bahasa yang santun menjadi fondasi utama dalam membangun komunikasi digital yang sehat. Artikel ini menegaskan bahwa pendidikan literasi digital dan penguatan kesadaran etika komunikasi perlu dilakukan secara sistematis, khususnya di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi.
