Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

A. General Submission Guidelines

  • JINTACT welcomes original research articles, literature reviews, professional practice reports, and book reviews in the fields of interactive communication, public relations, and broadcasting.

  • Manuscripts must be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia and should not have been previously published or under review elsewhere.

  • All submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

  • Manuscripts must adhere to the formatting and referencing guidelines described below.

B. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should include the following sections in the order listed:

  1. Title
    Clear and concise, no more than 14 words.

  2. Author(s) and Affiliation
    Full name, institutional affiliation, and corresponding email address.

  3. Abstract and Keywords

    • Written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.

    • 150–200 words summarizing the purpose, method, results, and conclusion.

    • 3 to 5 keywords, separated by commas.

  4. Introduction
    Present the research context, problem formulation, and objectives.

  5. Literature Review (if applicable)
    Review of existing scholarship relevant to the topic.

  6. Methodology
    Describe the research design, instruments, procedures, and analytical techniques.

  7. Results and Discussion
    Present findings supported by evidence and interpret them in relation to previous studies.

  8. Conclusion
    Summarize main findings, limitations, and recommendations for future research.

  9. Acknowledgements (optional)
    Recognize funding sources or contributions from individuals/institutions.

  10. References
    Full list of sources cited, formatted in APA Style (7th edition).

C. Formatting and Style

  • Document type: Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX (.tex)

  • Length: 5,000–8,000 words including tables, figures, and references.

  • Page setup: A4 size, 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

  • Font: Garamond 12 pt, 1.15 line spacing.

  • Headings: Use a clear hierarchical format (e.g., Heading 1, Heading 2).

Tables and figures must be numbered, titled, and placed within the body of the manuscript where they are referenced.

D. Citation and Reference Style

Use APA Style (7th edition) for in-text citations and reference lists.

Examples:

We encourage authors to use reference management tools like Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

E. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with similarity index above 20% will be rejected or returned to authors for revision.

F. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • No submission fee is charged.

  • APC is FREE of Charge

G. Submission Procedure

  1. Register or log in to the journal’s OJS system at: https://ejournal.penailmuwan.id/index.php/jintact/user/register

  2. Select Make a New Submission and follow the five-step process.

  3. Monitor your submission progress via your author dashboard.

Critical reviews of recent scholarly books or edited volumes in communication, digital culture, PR, and media arts.

Theoretical and Conceptual Papers

Contains essays that elaborate on theoretical frameworks, conceptual models, or analytical perspectives relevant to communication and media studies.

Case Studies / Field Reports

Highlights real-world cases, campaigns, or fieldwork findings related to media, communication practices, or public relations strategy.

Media and Technology Reviews

Reviews of emerging communication technologies, digital platforms, or media tools with relevance to journalism, PR, or broadcasting.

Student Research Highlight

Curated student research that demonstrates promising inquiry and academic potential in communication and media-related disciplines.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
