The present study aimed to investigate the differences in student learning outcomes between conventional teaching methods and the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model for Pythagorean theorem material in Class VIII at MTs Hidayatun Najah. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis involved normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using an independent samples t-test. The population for this study consisted of all Class VIII students at MTs Hidayatun Najah, comprising two classes. The sample included Class VIII-1 (control group, n=10) and Class VIII-2 (experimental group, n=12). Sampling was determined based on normality and homogeneity test results.
Based on the independent samples t-test results, a significance value of 0.001 was obtained. Since 0.001 ≤ 0.025, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. This indicates a statistically significant difference in student learning outcomes between the conventional teaching model and the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model for Pythagorean theorem material. Specifically, the average learning outcomes of students taught using the TPS model (mean = 68.67) were significantly higher than those taught using the conventional model (mean = 50.9).
